Takaloo's biggest fight since he beat Jim Rock to win the WBU light middleweight title in 2003

TAKALOO’S WBU welterweight title challenge against holder Eamonn Magee has been put back a week, after the top-of-the-bill clash between Danny Williams and Matt Skelton was scrapped after the two fighters failed to agree terms.

The fight will now take place on Saturday, December 10 at the ExCel Centre in London Docklands, as a support to the clash between former Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison and Williams.

The 30-year-old Margate fighter has turned his back on London to prepare to face Magee, and all his roadwork, training and sparring will be done in his home town under the eye of training mentor John McCormack.

It will be Takaloo’s debut as a welterweight as he still chases his dream of becoming world champion, but he says he will be comfortable fighting at his new weight, thanks to a new diet and improved training regime.

The fight will be Takaloo's biggest fight since he beat Jim Rock to win the WBU light middleweight title in 2003.
