GILLS make five changes to their starting line-up this afternoon as they face Cardiff City for a vital six-point clash in the Championship.

A completely changed strike-force sees Tommy Johnson make his first start of the season alongside Mama Sidibe.

Also coming into the team are Matt Jarvis, John Hills and keeper Steve Banks who replaces injury victim Jason Brown.

Darren Byfield misses out with a knee injury and Iwan Roberts takes a back-seat as he leads the management committee that includes youth-team manager Darren Hare, Paul Smith and Paul Scally.

Just one point separates the teams, with Gills currently sitting in the relegation places, a position below Cardiff.

Cardiff have had troubles finding the back of the net at home and so have brought in Millwall’s Neil Harris on loan, with the striker starting from the bench.

Gills: Banks, Nosworthy, Hills, Smith, Ashby, T Johnson, Crofts, Hope, Jarvis, Spiller, Sidibe. Subs: Bossu, Roberts, L Johnson, Pouton, Rose

Cardiff: Warner, Gabbidon, Thorne, Boland, Barker, Collins, Parry, Williams, McAnuff, Jerome, Ledley. Subs: Weston, Vidmar, Bullock, Alexander, Harris.
