Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Premier Division wrap

Hartley’s bid to win a fourth consecutive Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Premier Division title suffered another blow at Sevenoaks Vine on Saturday.

The champions lost for the third time in as many games after the home side won the clash by seven-wickets.

Hartley posted 158 with only Scott McKechnie (40), opener Dan Stickles (36) and Jack Laraman (20) offering any resistance.

Miles Richardson (3-59) and Ollie Howick (3-33) shared the bowling honours.

Sevenoaks, who are now second on the table, replied with 160-3 in the 34th over thanks to opener John Bowden (37) and an unbroken stand of 81 between Luke Blackaby (75) and Ollie Howick (31).

Blackheath moved three points clear of Sevenoaks after a 143 run win at Bexley.

Tanweer Sikandar scored 106 as Blackheath made 225-8.

Bexley were all-out for 82 in reply as Tom Mees took 5-17.

Canterbury were also big winners, beating Bickley Park by seven-wickets.

Bickley Park were bowled out for 168 with Imran Qayyum finishing with 3-27 off 14.5 overs.

Simon Smith (69) led the successful reply as the home side made 172-3.

Australian international all-rounder Dan Christian’s big-hitting helped Bromley beat Beckenham by four-wickets.

Christian, fresh from his stunning 129 off 57 balls for Middlesex in the NatWest T20 Blast defeat against Kent on Friday night, smashed 43, including four fours and four sixes, as his side made 163-6 chasing 159.

Lordswood won by 137-runs at Sandwich Town after former Kent and Sussex paceman Amjad Khan starred with the bat and Danny Masters did likewise with the ball.

Khan scored 122, including seven fours and eight sixes,as Lordswood were all-out for 222.

Masters then captured 5-21, which included the prized scalp of young Aussie batsman Marnus Labuschagne for a duck, as the home side were bowled out for 85.
