Charlton trio apply to go on loan

THREE members of the Charlton squad, Graham Stuart, Chris Powell and goalkeeper Simon Royce have asked manager Alan Curbishley to be allowed to go out on loan.

The three have not featured in any of the club’s opening four Barclays Premier League games.

Stuart was wanted by Ipswich before the Addicks’ attempt to sign Darren Bent fell through a week ago.

Curbishley stressed after the club’s shock 4-0 defeat away to Manchester City a week ago that he was reluctant to release players following interest from Norwich in Jonatan Johansson.

But Stuart retorted: “If I don’t get a look in soon, then I think the manager must let me go out on loan.”
