10.10pm - Well that rounds off another day at the Games. Hope you enjoyed the action.

I'll be heading to Glasgow Green bright and early to watch England women's hockey team (hopefully) beat Scotland and secure a semi-final place at 9am.

Until then. Good night.

9.50pm - Gosh. That escalated quickly. My wait to speak to Martin ended up with Grace Clements finishing her 200m heat in 27.04secs, which dropped her down to 8th overnight.

"It is a very long way," said a typically bubbly Grace. "I had two season's bests this morning, but the last two events have not gone so well."

Martin lopes in and reveals he completed the 1,500m having been consulted by the doctor earlier for his virus, having trapped a nerve in the pole vault and torn an abductor muscle in the javelin.

"It was important to me to finish," he said. "I coach kids in Kent and I wanted to show them to never give up. A lot of people had come to watch and support me and I wanted to finish it for them.

"That is not a true reflection of me, but I'm glad I finished, there are plenty of people who do not complete decathlons."

9.05pm - He got round in one piece but is pipped to 13th place in the 1,500m on the line.

9pm - Brockman is a warrior, out there all smiles on the start-line. Wearing unlucky number 13 on his chest. Can he finish strong?

8.50pm - Ten minutes until the final event of the decathlon. Martin's going to need a good lie down afterwards.

8.30pm - Great stuff from Grace Clements who launches a shot put 12.66m - good enough for fourth in the event and good enough to take her up to sixth overall.

Clements has 2,524pts from the first three events and there is still the 200m to come tonight.

8.25pm - Martin Brockman has slipped back to 13th after the javelin. It'll take something extraordinary for that to improve in the punishing finale which is the 1,500m.

7.58pm - Biggest grin in the world from Commonwealth Silver medallist Adam Gemili. I wrote a little something about why we should all be proud. Click here for more.

7.50pm - Grace Clements is third after the first round of the shot put. 12.42m is a good start for the Dartford Harrier.

7.35pm - After talking to Team England officials I expect we'll see Martin in the 1,500m later.

I know we're going to see Grace Clements in just a minute, just after this Kenyan trio sweep the medals in the women's 10,000m.

6.50pm - Martin passes on his third throw. Not right, as I say. Hope we'll see him out there for the 1,500m later still. Don't want a DNF.

6.40pm - I was right. 42.15m - better but still a couple of metres shy of his season's best, and 15 behind his PB set in 2012.

6.35pm - Brockman's first throw is 40.31m - under 500 points for that. He doesn't look right but there're more in the tank than that I'm sure.

6.15pm - So Maidstone star Brockman has just two more events to come in the decathlon.

As I told you last night, he's been battling a nasty virus, but he remains just 200 points adrift of the top-eight finish he's targeted.

First up at half-past is the javelin, with the gruelling 1,500m to finish the warriors off at 9pm.

Clements is just two events into her eight-event programme, but has made a fine start with two season's best performances so far to lie sixth overall.

The shot put is her next event at 7.40pm with the 200m to follow at 9.30pm.

6pm - Good evening and welcome to Hampden Park.

Wow it seems like only 20 hours ago I was sat here watching Adam Gemili do his best 'dumbfounded' face. Ah yes, it was.

He'll be back out in a couple of hours to get his hands on the medal he earned - cruel making him wait almost an entire day - but he's not the only Kent star we'll see tonight.

Martin Brockman and Grace Clements are our multi-event stars and both have been in action already today, so read up below and I'll be back shortly to preview the action, which begins at 6.30pm.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monday might have been the most glorious day of the Games so far, but there's beem plenty of Glasgow 2014 action for Kent athletes on Tuesday.

While Commonwealth Games 100m silver medallist Adam Gemili was doing a whirlwind tour of media opportunities, plus trying to get some preparations in for the 4x100m relay later this week, two of our stars were back on track this morning.

Martin Brockman continued his decathlon in the first event of the day, the 110m Hurdles.

He finished fifth in his heat in 15.65secs for 744 points, then jumped 6.93m in the long-jump finishing 10th and last in his pool.

His 13.84 in the shot put was good enough for sixth in the pool while a 37.85m discus and helped him reach 13th place with 5,281pts.

A pole vault of 4.50m propelled him to 6,041 and 11th place with two events to come.

Dartford Harriers' Grace Clements began her heptathlon campaign with a season's best time of 14.54 in the 100m Hurdles.

She registered another season's best in the high jump with a clearance of 1.75m - nobody jumped higher - to lie sixth after two events.

England's men's hopes of topping their group in the hockey competition suffered a blow with a last-gasp 2-1 defeat to New Zealand.

Chatham-born Ashley Jackson and Holcombe contingent Barry Middleton, Iain Lewers, George Pinner, Nick Catlin and Dan Fox look destined to face Australia in Saturday's semi-finals, should they avoid a shock defeat against Canada on Thursday morning.

Canterbury star Kwan Browne bagged a hat-trick and his Green and White teammate Mickel Pierre another as Trinidad swept into a 3-0 lead against inside 20 minutes against Malaysia on Tuesday, going on to win 4-2 and register their first ever Commonwealth Games win.

In the Lawn Bowls competition Sian Gordon (Honnor) was back in action as the England women's triple faced Papua New Guinea, seeking to make it back-to-back wins to begin the competition, only for the Islanders to record a 20-14 success.
