John Gorman has led his Wycombe side to the top of League 2

Gillingham v Wycombe Wanderers

JOHN GORMAN returns to Priestfield tonight as his League 2 table-toppers Wycombe Wanderers square up to Gillingham in the LDV Vans Trophy.

Only last season the former England assistant manager took charge on a caretaker basis following a stint as coach after Andy Hessenthaler stepped down. He engineered a 2-1 home win over Nottingham Forest before departing to take over at Adams Park.

The second round tie will give Gills caretaker boss Ronnie Jepson the chance to increase a number of players' match fitness, while also possibly re-introducing goalkeeper Jason Brown to first team action. Brown has missed the last nine matches after fracturing a thumb while away with the Welsh squad.

Chris Hope (knee) is the latest player to be added to the injury list, which also includes Jon Wallis and Hessenthaler (both hamstring) and Alan Pouton (knee). Mike Flynn serves the last of his three-game suspension for his dismissal against Burscough in the FA Cup.
