Charlton 4 Norwich 0

CHARLTON manager Alan Curbishley believes successive wins against Tottenham and Saturday's 4-0 demolition of Norwich has rejuvenated his players' confidence ahead of successive games against Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Addicks visit Old Trafford next Saturday invigorated by six points in eight days after an awful October.

"Two weeks ago we were getting booed off and now we're getting clapped off," he said.

"As I keep saying, it's a long season but we're really pleased to have put six points on the board in eight days. This was important because we've got the big two coming up - Manchester United and Chelsea.

"Goals change games and performances. We raced into a 2-0 lead at White Hart Lane and you could see the confidence coming back, and it was the same against Norwich."

He revealed: "During the week in training I could see there was something about the players. One or two who had looked under the weather responded and I'm hoping it will be the same this week.

"It doesn't matter if you're the big name signing or the young player coming through, it's all about confidence, which, until recently, we've been lacking."

Curbishley acclaimed two-goal Jonatan Johansson's performance.

He said: "Both Jonatan and Kevin Lisbie are team players. They are not greedy, they are not for themselves. Sometimes it goes unnoticed but not by me."

Johansson scored twice in the opening 21 minutes, his first coming in the 15th.

Charlton substitute Paul Konchesky killed off hopes of a Norwich revival with a third in the 75th before substitute Jason Euell made it 4-0 four minutes from the end.

Saturday's attendance of 27,057 was a record since The Valley was redeveloped.
