Bradley Dack burst onto the first team scene last season and is now ready to establish himself as a key player.

The young Gillingham attacking midfielder played 24 times for Martin Allen’s team last season to earn himself a championship medal in his first season.

Dack said: “I am getting to the age where I need to be looking to start games.

“Last season was a bedding-in season and I was still finding my feet. It was my first professional season but now I have to kick on and get more starts, play in more games and score more goals.”

Dack had a whirlwind start to life as a professional last season.

He made his first team debut against Bristol City in the Capital One Cup, made his league debut days later against Bradford and scored against Crawley in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. Boss Martin Allen rewarded him with a three-year deal.

“I definitely enjoyed it last year, especially winning the league,” said the 19-year-old.

“This season is going to be a lot tougher but we have the squad and the players to go again.

“The sky is the limit and we will see how we go this season."

“I count myself lucky (for last season). A lot of boys have never had promotion before, let alone winning a league, so to have that medal in my first season is something to show the grandkids."
