An understrength Invicta Dynamos came from four goals down to draw 6-6 with Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday.

The Mos went into their NIHL Southern Cup opener without Tyrone Miller, Nicky Lewis and Juraj Huska and looked set for a hiding at Silver Blades.

But a storming comeback earned Kevin Parrish’s side a draw in their first competitive game of the season.

Chelmsford were four goals ahead with little over 10 minutes gone before Alan Lack and Callum Fowler found the target.

Moments after the start of the second period, Chelmsford edged 5-2 ahead.

A third Mos goal was scored by former Chieftains player Daniel Hammond, with an assist by Jacub Kilma and moments later, the pair swapped roles, with the Czech forward making it 5-4.

The Mos ended the second with an equalising goal. Elliot Knell’s effort rebounded into the path of Fowler and he finished.

Early on in the third period, the Mos took the lead for the first time, through Knell but had to share the spoils as Chelmsford levelled it up with less than five minutes remaining.
