Amjad Khan was granted British citizenship in December

KENT fast bowler Amjad Khan has won his first international call-up after being named in the 14-strong England A squad for the tour to Bangladesh next month.

The 26-year-old Denmark-born player was granted British citizenship last month and is one of several new faces in the party, which includes former St Lawrence team-mates Alex Loudon of Warwickshire and Michael Carberry, now with Hampshire.

However, there is no place for skipper Robert Key, a member of the England Academy squad who spent the first part of the winter training and playing matches in Perth.

David Graveney, England's chairman of selectors, explained Key's absence together with another test hopeful, Middlesex's Owais Shah, saying: "Owais and Robert remain very much in our thoughts and their non selection reflects the fact that they have already had extensive experience of touring squads."

The party arrive in Dhaka on February 14, before their first warm-up match three days later. They then play five games against Bangladesh A, two four-day games and three one-dayers.

Full squad: Michael Yardy (Sussex capt), Ravi Bopara (Essex), Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Leicestershire), Michael Carberry (Hampshire), Nick Compton (Middlesex) Stephen Davies (Worcestershire), Will Jefferson (Nottinghamshire), Amjad Khan (Kent), Alex Loudon (Warwickshire), Graham Onions (Durham), Mathew Prior (Sussex), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Tom Smith (Lancashire).
