Francis Jeffers' time at The Valley was plagued by injuries

FORMER Charlton striker Francis Jeffers has signed for Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old was released by the Addicks at the end of May.

Jeffers has agreed a two-year deal at Ewood Park and Blackburn have the option for a third season.

He told the club's official website: "Given a fair crack of the whip here I'm sure I can get back to my best."

Jeffers, who has been hampered by injuries, made only 14 starts for Alan Curbishley in two years at The Valley.
