PETER VARNEY: "We're delighted that so many football fans from Kent are backing the club"

CHARLTON'S fight against relegation has fired the enthusiasm of Kent football fans with 3,100 catching the club's Valley Express cut-price coach service to watch Saturday's 2-1 defeat of Aston Villa.

The club reduced admission prices to £20, £10 and £10 for the match which drew a healthy response at the turnstiles.

Charlton chief executive Peter Varney said:"We were just 15 short of a full-house, which is fantastic.

"We're delighted that so many football fans from Kent are backing the club in the battle against relegation.
