Bobby and Alex Clay were key athletes in Great Britain’s victory over Europe and USA in the BUPA Great Edinburgh Cross-Country, televised live on Saturday afternoon.

The sisters, coached by Peter Mullervy at Invicta East Kent, took the first two places in the under-20 international to lead Britain’s junior women to success and help ensure the overall match win.

Bobby, 16, claimed her first international cross-country race win by beating her older sister Alex, 18, by four seconds over 4 kilometres of hilly terrain.

Both athletes are now regulars in British teams in World and European Cross-
Country Championships.
