Most of Kent's non-league football clubs played pre-season friendlies in soaring temperatures on Saturday afternoon.

Dartford picked up a draw against League 2 opposition for the second week running. Ryan Hayes put them in front against Dagenham & Redbridge at Princes Park but the game finished 1-1 after Kenny Clark put through his own goal.

Loick Pires scored for Welling United in their 4-1 home defeat to Leyton Orient. There were worrying scenes for the Wings fans when goalkeeper Sam Mott was stretchered off with an ankle injury.

There was a 5-1 win for Ebbsfleet United away to Thamesmead Town in Steve Brown's first game as Fleet manager. New signings Stacy Long and Ben May both scored twice.

Dover Athletic lost 1-0 at home to Kingstonian, with Dan Sweeney scoring the only goal for the Ryman League Premier Division visitors.

Luke Blewden bagged a brace for Tonbridge Angels in their 5-1 win over neighbours Tunbridge Wells at Longmead. Emmanuel Akokhia, Henry Muggeridge and Ryan Watts also found the target, with Richard Sinden netting the Wells reply.

Frannie Collin scored from the penalty spot for Maidstone United, who lost 2-1 at home to a Charlton Athletic XI.

Margate won 5-2 at Hythe Town thanks to goals from Tommy Murphy, Phil Walsh, Charles Ademeno, Warren Whitely and Vincenzo Wade. The Hythe goals came from Dave Cook and new signing Shaun Welford.

Ryan Golding scored both goals as Sittingbourne beat a Welling XI 2-0, while Faversham Town won 1-0 at Sheppey & Sheerness United. Luke Harvey netted the winner.

Whitstable Town retained the Bruce Smith Shield after beating local rivals Herne Bay 4-3 on penalties at The Belmont. Joe Lester put the Oystermen in front but the game finished 1-1 at 90 minutes when Danny Lawrence equalised for Bay late on.

A Frankie Chappell own goal earned Ashford United a 1-0 win at home to Folkestone Invicta.
