FORMER Kent and West Indies all-rounder Carl Hooper may well have graced championship cricket for the last time.

The 37-year-old from Guyana has yet to announce his retirement, but he shook hands with his Lancashire team-mates and said his farewells following their drop to the Frizzell second division this week.

After the draw with Gloucestershire that confirmed relegation his Lancashire coach Mike Watkinson said: "Carl has had a great career and is perhaps thinking whether this might have been his last game or not.

"If that's the way things pan out we should give him a great pat on the back for what he's done. I think he's someone who's very proud and sets his standards very high.”

Hooper spent two seasons at Old Trafford after a sparkling five summers at Kent that saw him score 6,714 runs at an average of 50.43, reap 154 wickets at 34 and pocket 121 catches.
