Plymouth 2 Gillingham 1

TWO goals at the death from David Friio rained on Gills' parade at Home Park on Saturday afternoon.

John Hills was stretchered off after just 17 minutes after an innocuous clash with Paul Connolly.

Either side of this incident, Steve Crawford went close but he put his shot from a tight angle wide and then Keith Lasley lashed the ball over from the edge of the box.

Andrew Crofts brought a superb stop from Romain Larrieu when the big Frenchman produced a flying save from Crofts' shot.

But all the excitement was saved for the end of the half. Friio and Hodges came close for Plymouth with Byfield curling a shot wide for Gills.

Henderson opened the scoring on 47 minutes when he shrugged off Hodges to get on the end of a long ball and found the net.

Argyle piled on the pressure at the other end but had to wait until the death to snatch the points.

Friio got Argyle's first in the 88th minute with a header from Lee Makel's corner.

And in the 90th minute, Friio produced a superb diving header from Milne's cross to win the game.
