KINNEAR: looking for revenge for defeat at the Dripping Pan in September

Margate v Lewes

MARGATE face Lewes in their penultimate Nationwide South home game of the year at Homelands in Ashford tonight.

Chris Kinnear's side slipped two places in the table to 14th following the 1-0 home defeat by Hornchurch at the weekened, while the Sussex side, promoted from the Ryman League last season, arrive sixth in the table.

Midfielder Adrian Clarke is still absent with an ankle injury as Margate look to seek revenge for a 7-3 defeat at the Dripping Pan in September.

Boss Chris Kinnear hopes that his side can still be among those chasing a play-off spot at the end of the season.

The key could be a final conclusion to the club's long battle to return to Hartsdown Park, which Kinnear admits has "taken its toll" on the players in an inconsistent campaign.

Apart from Clarke, Margate's only injury worry is long-term absentee Mark Green. The former Gillingham youngster has been out since early September with a broken leg. He hopes to be back early in the New Year.

Thanet Council's 30-day deadline for the club to submit plans for the Hartsdown Park rebuild expires on Thursday.
