Gillingham extended their unbeaten sequence to eight matches courtesy of a late goal from Mamady Sidibe in a 3-2 home victory over promotion chasing Leicester City this afternoon.

The hosts opened the scoring after 31 minutes when Paul Shaw found the corner of the net with a right foot volley from the edge of the box.

Sidibe made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time as he clipped the ball into the unguarded net after Leicester keeper Ian Waker had dropped a cross at the Gills striker's feet.

Second-placed Leicester came out a different side in the second period and pulled one back almost immediately when Frank Sinclair powered home a far post header.

City equalised on the hour mark through Tommy Wright, who had replaced Brian Deane eaelry on, when the youngster tapped in Alan Rogers' low cross.

Both sides had chances to win the game but it was Gillingham who grabbed the all-important fifth goal on 86 minutes when substitute Rod Wallace skipped past Walker on the edge of the area before crossing for Sidibe to net.
