Gillingham welcome back Charlie Lee after suspension for their League 1 game against Bradford City

Charlie Lee returns to the Gills squad for this weekend’s visit of Bradford City.

Lee was suspended on Sunday for the game against Coventry City following his dismissal the week before at Crawley.

The Gills are likely to be without Chris Whelpdale (kidney) but are otherwise at full strength for the game.

Gillingham’s full strength, however, still means the likes of Jake Hessenthaler and Sam Muggleton are on the bench.

“Hessenthaler has done well on his loan out at Margate,” said boss Martin Allen.

“He is back from that loan and everyone knows Muggleton has such a fantastic throw-in and Bayo (Akinfenwa) scores goals from throw-ins. There was part of that in my mind when we needed a goal on Sunday (both came off the bench).

“You are guaranteed crosses from his throw-ins and Bayo is particularly good at them.

“It is important that this club does bring through young players. For Muggleton and Hessenthaler, it is good for them and they are the future.”
