Gills fall down and put West Brom on top

TWO goals in four minutes condemned Gills to their second defeat in a week and put West Bromwich Albion top of Nationwide Division 1.

Scott Dobie scored his third goal in as many games to open the scoring on 25 minutes. He latched onto Phil Gilchrist’s long ball and took advantage of some poor communication between Chris Hope and goalkeeper Jason Brown.

Neil Clement's stunning free-kick from 25-yards shortly afterwards gave Gary Megson's men a cushion and from there on in they enjoyed a comfortable ride.

The Baggies who were without influential playmaker Jason Koumas who suffered a hamstring problem in midweek still had more than enough to cruise to victory.
