Gills hoping to turn tide in Cup

GILLINGHAM will be looking to put their league woes behind them when they take on Premiership side Portsmouth in the Carling Cup tonight.

The Gills have lost their last three League 1 games and haven't scored a goal in over 300 minutes of football, but will be hoping to put things right against Pompey at Priestfield.

Manager Neale Cooper is expected to name an unchanged line-up after Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Oldham, with Tom Williams still a few weeks away from full fitness and Danny Spiller and Tony Bullock both still missing.

Pompey boss Alain Perrin, though, is expected to rest a number of his senior players like Lomana Tresor LuaLua, meaning midfielders Zvonimir Vukic and Frank Songo'o could make their full debuts.
