IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Matt Jarvis has caught the eye of several clubs

RONNIE JEPSON has again expressed his desire to hang onto star player Matt Jarvis.

The 20-year-old winger has attracted plenty of interest after some eye-catching performances and there is speculation he could leave Priestfield during this month's transfer window.

Plymouth remain the only firm bidders for Jarvis, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Jepson said: "The chairman had an offer from Plymouth for Matt Jarvis but turned it down and I haven’t spoken to anybody personally about him.

"Matt is a proper lad to work with. He never stops going and he is as honest as the day is long."

Jarvis has been linked with a host of clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham, Charlton, Nottingham Forest and Stoke, and has rejected a new contract.

The Gills can either cash in during January or wait until a possible tribunal to decide a fee in the summer.
