GILLINGHAM will face former European Champions Cup semi-finalists FC CSKA Sofia in a pre-season friendly at Priestfield on Wednesday, July 28, kick-off 7.45pm.

The Gills are also hoping to play Charlton two days later in what would be a repeat of last season’s FA Cup third round which the Kent club won 3-2.

If the game against the Addicks can be arranged it is likely there will be a ticket deal on both matches.

Player-manager Andy Hessenthaler said: “Our away fixtures against non-league sides are confirmed. We’re also talking to Charlton. It would be another great warm-up for the squad."
