IAN COX: fighting to get fit

GILLINGHAM will be keen to get their Christmas campaign back on track on Saturday following the postponement of Wednesday’s match at Swansea.

The players will also be expected to buck their ideas up against MK Dons after their slack performance against Bristol City on Boxing Day.

The 1-1 draw ended a run of four straight home league wins that had seen the side move away from the relegation zone.

MK Dons travel to Priestfield without a win in five league games, although Gills manager Ronnie Jepson feels their opponents still possess plenty of quality.

Jepson said: "It’s going to be a difficult match as they’re not a bad side. We’ve had them watched a couple of times and Danny Wilson has got them well organised.

"They’ve got a couple of players that could be playing in the higher leagues."

Ian Cox is battling to shake off an Achilles injury, while Chris Hope (calf), Darren Byfield (knee) and Steven Hislop (groin) all remain sidelined.
