Gillingham boss Peter Taylor has decided to end his interest in former Tunbridge Wells winger Josh Stanford.

The wideman has been on trial at Priestfield during pre-season but has now been released, having most recently featured in Gills' 6-1 win at Faversham on Tuesday night.

"What an amazing experience, putting on the Gillingham shirt for the past four weeks," said Stanford.

"Not the outcome that I was hoping for but have to take all the positives out of it, thank you to everyone for the nice messages and support.

"I gave it my best and I will come back stronger."
