Gillingham are set to announce their retained player list this week.

Manager Martin Allen spoke with his entire squad, individually, on Friday.

Several players, including senior pair Andy Frampton and Deon Burton, are out of contract this summer.

Every club in the Football League must supply a list of contracted players at the end of each season.

The majority of Allen’s senior squad are already tied to contracts for the coming season, at least.

Meanwhile, Jack Payneplayed for Peterborough on Saturday but was on the losing side, against Crystal Palace.

Defeat saw Peterborough relegated to League 1 where they will play Gillingham next season. Payne has been on loan from the Gills.

The conclusion of the Championship season also saw Wolverhampton Wanderers relegated to the same division as Gillingham.
