TY GOODEN: up against his former team-mates

GILLINGHAM play their penultimate pre-season friendly tonight away to Ryman League, Premier Division, Canvey Island where player-manager Andy Hessenthaler hopes to have injured trio Barry Ashby (thigh), Mark Saunders (knee) and Leon Johnson (knee) available.

Awaiting their arrival will be ex-Gill Ty Gooden who joined his home town club last month after leaving Priestfield on a free transfer.

Gooden scored the only goal of the game in Canvey's shock 1-0 win at Southend on Saturday. Tonight's match at Park Lane kicks off at 7.30pm.

Gillingham will complete their pre-season preparation on Saturday against Dover Athletic at Crabble, kick off 3pm.
