WELLING'S play-off hopes were all but ended after Bedford snatched a 94th-minute equaliser on Saturday.

The Wings led twice but failed to hold on and now need results to fall their way if they are to make the top five.

Welling were ahead as early as they 10th minute when Danny Kedwell beat keeper Ian Brown to the ball and scored into an empty net.

The Wings had all the chances with Steve Perkins heading just wide, Kedwell firing over and then Welling's leading scorer seeing Brown make a fine save.

Bedford failed to seriously test keeper Jamie Turner but he could do nothing to prevent the 65th-minute equaliser when Robbie Miller crossed for substitute Josh Sozzo to tap in from close range.

Welling were gifted the lead for the second time with just 16 minutes left when Leon Solomon's cross was turned into his own net by defender Craig Grieve.

Two minutes later Ben Lewis and Chris Moore both had efforts cleared off the line and then Kedwell blazed over as the game went into injury time.

They proved costly misses as substitute Ian Draycott lobbed Turner with virtually the last kick of the game.
