DARREN WATSON’S hat-trick only counted for a point as Margate threw away a two-goal lead at Christie Park.

Substitute Watson struck once before the break and twice in the second period to put Gate 3-1 up with just five minutes remaining.

But teeanger Danny Carlton’s second goal of the contest then made it 3-2 and with just a minute remaining home sub Nick Rogan blasted home a 30-yarder to earn the home side a point they barely deserved.
