HOME COMFORT: Ronnie Jepson

Gillingham 2 Huddersfield Town 1

RONNIE JEPSON said he was delighted with Gillingham’s winning start to the season after their 2-1 home success over Huddersfield.

Goals from Matt Jarvis and Dean McDonald were enough for the home side to pick up three points, despite Gary Taylor-Fletcher's late strike.

The Gills have now won 11 of their last 16 home league games and Jepson believes Fortress Priestfield could play a major part in any promotion challenge.

He said: "Gillingham has become a difficult place for teams to come and we need to make sure that continues this season."
