Danny Kedwell is out of contract in the summer

Striker Danny Kedwell has agreed a new two-year deal at Gillingham.

The 30-year-old scored 10 goals last season but suffered a knee injury, which left him sidelined for much of the run-in.

He has been at Priestfield since the summer of 2011 when he joined from AFC Wimbledon.

The new deal will see him remain at the club until the end of the end of the 2015/16 season.

Kedwell spoke of his desire to stay at Gills on several occasions last season, a club that he supported as a boy.

The former Welling and Grays front-man was a hit with AFC Wimbledon, prior to arriving at Gillingham, where he scored the crucial penalty that send them into the Football League.

He scored 14 goals in his first season for the Gills and followed that up with 16 in the next. Kedwell has scored 40 goals for the club to date.
