Prince Philip presents Charlotte Edwards with the Lady Taverners Trophy

PRINCE Philip has presented Charlotte Edwards and her Kent team with the Lady Taverners Trophy for winning the Liverpool Victoria Women’s County Championship.

The ceremony, organised by the Lord’s and Lady Taverners – of which the Duke of Edinburgh is patron and 12th man - took place at Buckingham Palace and crowned another triumphant year for Kent’s women cricketers.

Kent women have now won the County Championship two years in succession.
