GERAINT JONES: The wicket keeper is still on international duty

SPITFIRES will have to beat league leaders Glamorgan if they are to haul themselves out of the totesport League first division relegation zone on Monday.

The game has been put back 24 hours after the Dragons qualified for this weekend’s Twenty20 finals in Birmingham, leading to Monday’s 1pm start time for the re-scheduled clash.

Glamorgan are four points clear at the top with eight wins from 10 starts, while Kent slipped into the bottom three after Warwickshire’s one-wicket win over Northamptonshire earlier this week.

Kent have numerous fitness doubts ahead of the game and will hope Amjad Khan (ankle), Ian Butler (right thigh), Martin Saggers (knee), Min Patel (calf) come through late fitness tests.
