KENT'S director of cricket Graham Ford is keen for Ryan McLaren to put pen to paper on a new deal after two counties expressed interest in the South African all-rounder.

Kent have made an offer of a three-year extension to the 24-year-old Twenty20 Cup final hero's existing Kolpak contract.

But Warwickshire and one other un-named county submitted official 28-day approaches with a view to holding talks with the player.

Ford said: "It's not surprising there is interest in his ability."
