NEIL SMITH: "...it won't be an easy game for us"

Cambridge City v Welling United

WELLING player-manager Neil Smith welcomes back defensive duo Robbie Ryan and Chris Moore for the Blue Square South trip to Cambridge on Tuesday night.

Ryan (groin) and Moore (suspension) missed the opening day defeat to Bognor and their return at the back will be a welcome boost with Leon Solomon (knee) struggling to be fit.

"I'm going to bring in the experienced players," confirmed Smith. "Attacking-wise against Bognor we created plenty of openings and looked good going forward.

"Hopefully, with more experience in the team we will keep a better shape defensively. I'm a proud man and I wanted to win on Saturday. Now I'm looking for a reaction from my side."

Cambridge lost at Eastleigh on Saturday and will also be looking to register their first points of the campaign.

"They will want their first win as well and it won't be an easy game for us," said Smith.

"There were plenty of positives to take from the Bognor game and we did play some neat football in the first half.

"Omari Coleman and Sam Keevil both played well and Michael Johnson came on and scored a fantastic free-kick."
