Martin van Jaarsveld missed the T20 quarter final with a slight hamstring problem

Kent v Yorkshire

The Kent side may be excused for feeling a little bleary eyed at noon when they take to the field to take on Yorkshire on the opening day of their LV Championship match at St Lawrence today.

The Kent team bus arrived back from yesterday's Twenty20 Cup quarter final triumph in Birmingham at 1am this morning, giving the players very little time to recuperate ahead of what is another crucial game; this time in terms of their four-day survival in the top-flight.

Having been given ECB dispensation to start the game an hour late, the Kent squad will try to shake off their fatigue in order to build on last week's success at The Oval that lifted them out of the relegation places.

Captain Rob Key will hope to welcome back his man-of-the-match from Kennington win, Martin van Jaarsveld, who missed the 42-run victory in Birmingham with a slight hamstring strain.

Robbie Joseph and Martin Saggers will also be pushing for re-calls as the possible expense of Simon Cook and Azhar Mahmood.

The Tykes look set to rest former England seamer Darren Gough, with Rana Naved his likely replacement.
