THE Kent Messenger Group have been recognised by Kent netball for its outstanding contribution to the development of the sport in the county. Officials praised the group's publications for their coverage and promotion of netball with the daily newspaper Medway Today receiving special mention for its sponsorship of the Medway League.

Kent Messenger Group sports writer Carol Salmon was at Kent's first English Counties League match of the season to receive the award from life member Marg Miller of Sport England and Kent president and England manager Joan Mills.
