Northampton Town v Gillingham

STRIKER Gary Mulligan, who has not trained all week, faces a late fitness test ahead of Gillingham's game at Northampton this Friday night.

Meanwhile Clint Easton (calf) is ruled out and right-back Duncan Jupp (groin) remains sidelined so Nicky Southall should continue at right-back.

It stretches an already-thin squad and Jepson confirmed that the club again failed in an attempt to bring new players in on loan this week.

Jepson added: "We’ve got a hard four or five games coming up and I would still like to bring two or three players in."

The manager has told his squad to play with no fear against lowly Northampton.

He stressed: "We need to take the bull by the horns and back ourselves, that’s what I’m trying to get through to our players.

"I don’t want us to play with any fear, sitting back and waiting, we need to have a go."
