Leeds chairman hoping for 'poetic justice'

Leeds chairman Ken Bates believes "poetic justice" will be served if his team send Gillingham down to League 2 today.

Gills chairman Paul Scally was one of a number of Football League chairmen to vote in favour of Leeds' 15 point deduction.

Writing in today’s matchday programme, the Leeds chairman said: "It is ironic that having voted to penalise Leeds, Gillingham find their fate in our hands.

"It would be even more ironic if we win and are responsible for relegating them. Some might say it was poetic justice."
