Stuart Lewis has been named Gillingham player of the month for January.

Lewis received a bottle of champagne from the Kent Messenger Group’s Alec Peachey before Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Bradford.

Lewis, who has filled in at right-back after captain Barry Fuller was taken ill, won 28 per cent of the vote, beating Mark Bentley and Dennis Oli, who were joint-second with 20 per cent each.
