Amine Linganzi could make a swift return to the Gillingham team for the trip to Carlisle on Saturday.

The Frenchman missed the midweek game at Stevenage with tendonitis, rather than a recurrence of the hamstring injury that has already kept him out for much of the season.

Boss Peter Taylor said: “He was just a bit sore, a bit of tendonitis but he is fine, it’s not a long-term one. That is why we had to be careful with him Saturday.

“The problem with him is that you have a player that has been out for a while coming back in and playing on heavy pitches and that’s the problem.

“That’s why we took him off at the time we did on Saturday, to make sure something like that didn’t happen but then all of a sudden on Sunday he wakes up and he has tendonitis.”

Elliott Hewitt misses the match, due to his dismissal in midweek, while striker Danny Kedwell is still recovering from a hernia operation and Taylor suggested the 30-year-old was still three weeks off a return.
