Lovell quits Gills community role

Steve Lovell has left Gillingham

STEVE LOVELL has decided to quit his role as Gillingham’s Football in the Community Officer.

The former Gills striker recently took over as manager of Ryman League, Divison 1 South side Ashford Town and will now concentrate on his managerial duties.

“I’ve decided to leave and concentrate on my football management,” he said.

“I’ve had nearly eight years as the community officer and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it and have met some lovely people along the way, however, I need a new challenge and I’m not getting any younger."
