Danny Spiller is reported to be close to agreeing a deal with Millwall

MILLWALL are stepping up the hunt for Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller.

The 26-year-old is a key target for the Londoners and they are believed to be ready to agree terms with Gills' out of contract player.

Spiller's contract expires imminently and he looks set to call an end to a seven-year stint at the club, which included a player-of-the-year award in 2004.

He had been linked with a trial at Charlton but their manager, Alan Pardew, has denied any interest.
