PENNOCK: "My main concern now is Maidenhead – nothing else – we have to go there and get three points"

Maidenhead United v Welling United

WELLING manager Adrian Pennock has told his players to concentrate on tomorrow’s trip to Maidenhead, despite landing a bumper FA Cup draw.

The Wings were paired with League 1 high-flyers Huddersfield in the draw after a fourth qualifying round win at Dorchester last weekend.

But Pennock has warned that league points are his priority and there will be no talk of Huddersfield until after the Maidenhead game.

Pennock: "I’m sure the players know how I work but I stressed at training this week that we must focus on Maidenhead. My main concern now is Maidenhead – nothing else – we have to go there and get three points."

Pennock, however, will have to contend with FA Cup fever among supporters, although the game at Huddersfield has been switched to Sunday November 6, 1pm, under police advice for non-football reasons.

It is not an ideal situation and could cost the Wings financially, according to general manager Graham Hobbins.

Steve Perkins could be fit for the Huddersfield FA Cup game after picking up a knee injury in the 2-0 league win over Carshalton last Tuesday, but striker James Pinnock is out for a month with an ankle problem. Lee Gledhill is suspended for the Maidenhead game after picking up five bookings.
