THE Medway-based Invicta Dynamos ice hockey team face a busy weekend hosting the Romford Raiders at the Gillingham Ice Bowl on Saturday (face-off 5.15pm) before travelling to Solent and Gosport on Sunday.

Peter Korff has undergone an operation on his nose and will be out of action for six weeks.

Anthony Lennon and Matt Drake return from suspension for both games, while Damien Welch completes his two match ban on Saturday.

Last Saturday night Dynamos players and fans earned the praise of English Premier League outfit Romford Raiders following their performance in Essex.

In the wake of his club’s 7-4 win in the EPIHL Cup, Raiders team manager Mick Cahill sent a note to the Mos to congratulate them on a "terrific display".

He wrote: "I wanted to congratulate all from Invicta on a terrific display on Sunday night. Well done to Kevin (Parrish) and his players for a great performance and to the Mos fans who were, as ever, excellent value.

"Noisy support for their team, right to the end, and plenty of banter that kept the right side of decency. It was good to have them back at Rom Valley Way again and they’re welcome back any time."

Invicta coach Parrish welcomed the comments. He said: "It was a nice touch from Mick. I’ve known him a few years, and what he said was thoroughly deserved, particularly for our supporters.

"They didn’t stop singing the whole game.

"On the playing side, we missed a few chances, but there were definitely more positives than negatives. I know Romford are struggling at the moment, but they still have a lot of depth and some class players."
