FOLKESTONE Invicta are still searching for their first league win of the season after going down 2-0 at home to Heybridge Swifts on Saturday.

Neil Cugley's side got off to a disastrous start and were behind within five minutes to a Cliff Akurang strike.

The points were made safe after the referee awarded the visitors a penalty deep into stoppage time, an incident which saw Invicta keeper Tony Kessell sent off for the foul on Akurang.

Roles were reversed as Heybridge goalkeeper Paul Nicholls, their regular penalty taker, beat Folkestone striker James Dryden, who took over from the dismissed Kessell, from the spot.

Margate failed to hold onto the lead given to them by new signing Berti Brayley's 17th minute goal at Worthing on Saturday.

The former West Ham trainee delighted the travelling support with a superb left-footed effort that gave keeper Mark Ormerod no chance.

Chris Kinnear's side had to settle for a draw, their third of the campaign, when Jamie Brotherton scored a 65th minute equaliser.

Gate suffered another blow when they lost defender Kola Okikiolu with a thigh injury.

Bromley suffered their second defeat of the season at the hands of Hendon.

Nic McDonnell's scored in the 78th minute, but by then it was already 2-0 to the home side and the Lilywhites failed to find a leveller in the closing stages.
