Maidstone United re-ignited their Ryman League Premier Division title hopes with a dramatic 1-0 win at Grays Athletic on Saturday.

The home side had two players sent-off but the Stones failed to break the nine men down until the 90th minute, when Fabio Saraiva (pictured) struck from close-range.

With leaders Wealdstone losing at Canvey Island, it was a priceless win for Jay Saunders' side, who sit fourth - but only two points off top spot.

Margate went down 3-2 at home to Hendon despite leading twice, through Matt Bodkin and Jamie Stuart. That result, a 12th defeat of the season, leaves the Gate 15th.

Bottom side Cray Wanderers lost again, 1-0 at Enfield Town, while Thamesmead Town remain in the relegation zone despite earning a 0-0 draw at Bury Town.

In Division 1 South, three goals in 15 minutes either side of half-time sent Ramsgate on their way to a 5-1 win at home to Kent rivals Herne Bay.

James Everitt scored a penalty to get the ball rolling and Tom Chapman doubled the Rams' lead on the stroke of half-time. Herne's Bay's only goal, scored by Jordan Casey, was sandwiched by two Ian Pulman strikes after the interval, and Aaron Millbank completed the rout.

Two more goals from the prolific Paul Booth fired Folkestone Invicta to a 2-0 win at Merstham. Neil Cugley's side are two points outside the play-off places and they have a game in hand over fifth-placed Walton Casuals.

Hythe try to get away from Crawley Down during Saturday's 1-1 draw at Reachfields in Ryman League Division 1 South

Crawley Down Gatwick travelled to Reachfields having conceded 19 goals in their previous two games but they held Hythe Town a 1-1 draw. New signing Richard Quigley scored for Scott Porter's side, with former Dartford and Folkestone striker Allan Tait netting for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Whitstable Town were dragged closer to the relegation dogfight when they lost 1-0 away to fellow strugglers Three Bridges.

Sittingbourne's home game against Redhill was postponed, as was the fixture between Romford and league leaders VCD Athletic in Division 1 North.

There were no goals in the division's other two games involving Kent clubs. Erith & Belvedere drew 0-0 with Wroxham and it was the same story in the game between Chatham Town and Needham Market.
