New Tonbridge Angels boss Steve McKimm got off to a flying start in the Ryman League Premier Division with a 4-1 home win over VCD Athletic.

Tonbridge went ahead on the half-hour when Tommy Whitnell headed in from close range.
Former Cray and Welling forward Whitnell made it 2-0 five minutes before the break and he completed his hat-trick by half-time with another header.

Substitute Alex Teniola made it 4-0 on 71 minutes before Lewis Perkins headed in a late consolation for newly-promoted Vickers.

Title favourites Margate scored a second-half winner to end Hampton & Richmond's resistance.

Lewis Taylor scored the only goal of the game in front of 727 fans at Hartsdown Park when he headed in with 13 minutes remaining.

Taylor converted an Anthony Riviere cross was an excellent header while ex-Gillingham man Charlie Allen was denied a second goal by the woodwork.
