SPORTS cars and single-seaters join a multitude of saloon categories to make up a varied programme of 20 races for this weekend's Duryea Race Meeting at Lydden.

Road and Production Saloons, Alfa Romeos and VSR Saloons, which are based on Eurocars with a V6 engine housed in a lightweight, spaceframe chassis, will race on Saturday only.

But most, including Global Lights (ultra-lightweight sportscars built by former British Rallycross Champion Graham Hathaway), Ford Saloons, Ford Fiestas, Ford XR2 and XR3 models and Xtreme Minis will race on both days.

Sunday's programme will also include races for Super Silhouettes and Southern Sports and Saloons, as well as a round of the Southern Formula Ford Championship.

The meeting is organised by the British Racing and Sports Car Club and there will be two races for each category except the Road and Production Saloons and the Formula Ford single seaters.

Saturday's action starts at 9am with practice, followed by the first race at 1.30pm. The first race on Sunday starts at 12.30pm. Lydden Circuit is on the A2, eight miles south of Canterbury. Admission is £8 (£6 for senior citizens). Entry for accompanied children, parking and paddock is free.
