GILLINGHAM'S Paul Scally will be one of 72 Nationwide League club chairmen picketing the London offices of Carlton and Granada next month.

The picket on Wednesday, July 10, is designed to embarrass the company into paying the money clubs feel they are owed since ITV Digital went into administration.

Mr Scally was a vociferous supporter of the idea when he spoke during Saturday's Nationwide League annual meeting in London.

Another Division 1 chairman said: "By picketing their offices this may be the best way of forcing Carlton and Granada into talks. The picket will be entirely peaceful and there will be no problems. But we have to make a point. All club chairmen are supportive of the idea and we are expecting a big turn-out."

The league are already discussing next season's television coverage with a number of interested parties.
